How can I complete my TaskExchange profile as a potential peer reviewer?
Tell Cochrane Review Groups about your expertise and interests: complete your profile in TaskExchange
- Log in to TaskExchange with your Cochrane Account
- Click on your name in the top-right corner of the screen and select 'Manage Profile'
- Add your skills and areas of expertise, and link to your publications on ResearchGate
- Provide as much relevant information as possible to enable Review Groups searching for peer reviewers to locate you
- The Cochrane peer review policy recommends that all draft publications are reviewed by the following types of peer reviewer:
- clinical or topic specialist
- methodologist or statistician
- consumer - patient, carer or family member with first-hand experience of the healthcare condition under discussion
- Use the 'Skills' field on your TaskExchange profile to indicate your area of interest for peer review: clinical, methodological or consumer
- Select other relevant skills such as 'Consumer Input', 'Clinical Input', or 'Statistical Analysis' to reflect your expertise

While you are logged in to TaskExchange, why not browse for relevant tasks? Cochrane Review Groups and authors also post requests for help with tasks such as peer review, translation and data extraction in TaskExchange.
- It is also a good idea to sign up to weekly alerts for relevant TaskExchange tasks
- Click on your profile name and select 'Manage Preferences'
- Tick the option to receive a weekly summary of tasks
- Select the relevant peer review skills and 'Consumer Input' or 'Clinical Input'
Don't forget that Cochrane peer review tasks, like all other contributions completed through TaskExchange, will earn you the right to Cochrane Membership!
