How to add or remove a person in your group

After the transition to the new system of group roles is completed, you can add or remove a person from your group by contacting Cochrane Support with their name and email address, and to specify if they should have a Core role, and whether a Leadership or Admin element should be added. You can also specify whether the person should be given longer than the default four weeks to respond.

We will send them an invitation. They will need to accept or decline the invitation. They will get a reminder after two weeks. If they do not respond within four weeks, you will be notified that the invitation has expired.

You will get a notification when the person accepts or declines the role.

Group contact details

Group details will no longer be editable in Archie. These details are displayed on cochrane.org. Please contact Cochrane Support if you need to make changes to your group’s address, email, contact person, etc., and this will be updated for you.

How can I see what people have a Core role in my group?

Groups will be able to see all the people with a Core role on their COI portal page.

This page is publicly available, so anyone can view it as part of Cochrane’s commitment to Research Integrity.

People with leadership responsibilities will be listed at the top of each group’s listing.

Please note that currently this page is showing the old record of declarations, and there is no need to update your DOI until you are invited to confirm your Core role.

How do we keep in touch with people who are interested in our group but don’t need a Core role?

If someone does not need the resources above and does not need to complete a Declaration of Interest, you should not give them a Core role. If you still want to acknowledge their contribution publicly you can add them to your webpage. People who are interested in your group’s work, and potential volunteers, should not have a Core role. If you wish to find a volunteer for a specific task, we recommend you use Cochrane Engage

If you want to send out a newsletter to people who are interested in the work your group is doing, we recommend you set up a mailing list that will allow you to contact them. Your group is responsible for any personal data you store, so we recommend using an online dedicated mailing platform like Brevo or MailChimp. Full details can be found in the guidance on data protection for Cochrane Groups.
